On May 15, 2020, the good news was reported that Mr. Anutin Charnverakul, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Health has signed the Royal Gazette to remove China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau from the list of dangerous communicable disease area and took effect on May 16, 2020.
When this good news has announced, it is believed that foreign tourists and entrepreneurs related to the tourism industry; such as tour operator, travel agency or any businesses that gather the tourism products and services from many entrepreneurs i.e. airlines, hotels and accommodation, spa, restaurants, car rental, insurance, etc., would probably start planning to draw tourists back to travel in Thailand immediately once unlock the flight to fly in and out of the country.
Unfortunately, many plans to welcome tourist have to be extended for another month after the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has announced the extension of a temporary ban on all international flights to Thailand (No. 5), will be extended from 1 June 2020 at 00.01 hrs. to 30 June 2020 at 23.59 hrs. (Thailand time Zone) to prevent the new outbreak of COVID19.
After announcing the extension of a temporary ban on all flights flying in and out Thailand for another month, it is sure that the "Thai tourism industry", the main sector that economic development tool, is still inevitably affected.
However, the tourism industry including businesses that depended on international shipping still has hope if the situation of the COVID 19 outbreak in Thailand has got the new case under 10 cases or the number is 0 consecutive weeks. It is possible that the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand may announce to unlock the flight to fly in and out of Thailand earlier than scheduled.
Nevertheless, tourists who will travel to Thailand must have documents and comply with these preventive measures as follows:
- Medical certificate
- Fit-to-fly examination
- The evidence of personal health insurance
4. Upon arrival in Thailand, there must be a detention at a state quarantine for another 14 days.
