Follow Up Process
After surgery, you will be admitted for at least 7 days.

Special Requirements:

      You need to be of legal age, in good health, and must submit the following requirements before your pre-surgical assessment for SRS MTF

  1. Letter of recommendation from two psychiatrists (one from a psychiatrist in patient’s own locality and one from a Thai psychiatrist) stating the following:

           a. Diagnosis of male with Gender Identity Disorder
           b. Declaration of successful real life experience as a female for at least 1 year

     Certified psychiatrists issue this letter to individuals who meet the criteria of the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association

   2. Medical certificate with details of female hormone therapy
           a. Hormone intake must be prescribed and monitored by a licensed physician
           b. Hormones have been taken for 1 year

  • Price included anesthesia. There is not any consultancy fee unless the patients who had been done the filler before.
  • Consultancy fee will start from 1,000 THB, depending on each case.
  • There will be registration fee at 20 THB for new patient.
  • There will be hospital service fee at 150 THB for every patients.

Procedure

  • Feminizing modification of the genitalia in males diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder is possible upon submission of required supporting documents (see Special Requirements section). The surgery aims to create a visually realistic and functional female genital anatomy complete with labia, clitoris and vaginal canal.
  • The new clitoris is fashioned from a portion of the sensitive penile head (glans penis). It has its own nerve and blood supply, enabling sensitivity to sexual stimulation, arousal, and orgasm.
  • The neo-vagina is typically 5-7 inches deep and is made by Penile Skin Inversion technique if the length of the penis is adequate, or by Colon Vaginoplasty technique in cases of inadequate penile length. As with biological females, this new vaginal canal is located between the urethra and the rectum.
Preoperative

In preparation for the surgery, you are going to be required to:
1. Take a lab test - medical problems has to be controlled before surgery
2. Wait six months for surgery in case of a previous infection
3. Stop smoking
4. Stop taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements since they can increase bleeding
5. Undergo assessment of tissue pliability

Recovery
  • To protect the surgical site, you will need to sleep with your legs separated for 5-7 days. During this period, you will be on a liquid diet with low fiber content so frequency of defecation is decreased.
  • After about a week, you will be encouraged to start walking. Depending on your rate of healing, your doctor may also resume your hormone prescription after one week.
