Lower eyelid surgery is more appropriate procedure when excess skin, fat and muscle need to be removed from the lower lids. The incisions are placed in the natural smile crease closed to the lash line. The wound will be closed with the tiny dissolvable sutures leaving only a less noticeable scar.
Preoperative
Get lab testing or a medical evaluation
Take certain medications or adjust your current medications
Stop smoking
Avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements as they can increase bleeding and bruising
Recovery

Use of contact lens may be resumed after two weeks (upon re-evaluation by the physician).
The patient should not consume alcohol after the surgery.
More strenuous activities and alcohol consumption may be resumed after three weeks.
Bruising and swelling should be gone after several weeks.
